NITROUS OXIDE SEDATION

This is our gentlest form of sedation, and it’s ideal for people who just need to “take the edge off” of their dental nerves. All a patient has to do is breathe in the colorless, odorless gas through a small nasal mask, and within minutes, they’ll be overcome with a warm, happy, and even euphoric feeling. The mask will stay for the entire appointment, and once it is removed, the gas’ effects wear off almost instantly, allowing a patient to quickly go back to their day.

Oral Conscious Sedation

If you experience mild to moderate dental phobia, then The Center of Endodontics Periodontics and Implantology can prescribe you a pill to take about an hour before your visit. By the time you actually sit in the treatment chair, you’ll be deeply physically and mentally relaxed. You’ll remain conscious during the appointment and be able to respond to commands, but time will fly by very quickly, and you’ll likely have little to no memory afterward. This method of sedation is so strong that we require a friend or family member to drive you to and from the office the day of your procedure.

IV Sedation

If you are extremely afraid of the dentist or require extensive dental work, then IV sedation might be the best choice for you. With this, a potent sedative will be administered directly into your bloodstream via a small injection in your arm or hand. It will take effect very quickly, and you’ll fall into a deep sense of relaxation. The best part of this method is that we can actually adjust your sedation level in real time during a procedure to ensure that you are perfectly comfortable at every moment.
